Morton Grove, Ill. — June 4, 2013 — Xylem Inc., a leading global water technology company focused on addressing the world’s most challenging water issues, recently unveiled two Flojet brand products – the BevJet Compact and the V-Jet series rotary vane pumps – at the 2013 National Restaurant Association (NRA) trade show, held in Chicago, May 18-21.
The BevJet Compact is designed to distribute water, wine, non-pulp juices, iced teas, alcohol (less than 15 percent concentration), syrups and more through the motorized unit. The system is ideal for applications requiring flow rates from 0.8 to 1.0 GPM (3.0 – 3.8 L/Min). Created to fit into tight spaces, the beverage dispense system is easy to install in cabinets, carts or any under counter application, making it a reliable beverage solution for food kiosks, drink stalls and small restaurant and vending operations.
The system employs intelligent automatic shut-off technology that senses when a bag-in-box or bottled water unit is depleted. The automatic shut-off feature is supported by Flojet’s leading electric diaphragm pump technology that ensures a long service life.
Xylem also launched Flojet V-Jet series rotary vane pump heads at NRA 2013. The low flow, high-pressure positive displacement units were developed for applications, including beverage carbonation, water dispense and boosting, and coffee applications. The pump heads are engineered to combat the most common maintenance and service issues. The V-Jet design and materials eliminate the risk of contamination from lead that is often found in traditional brass pumps, proving a safer alternative for restaurant owners and convenience store operators. The product’s patented features and unique design elements provide high pressure where needed and allow reduced vane wear if the supply feed is interrupted, extending the life of the product.
“Xylem created these products to help professionals stay ahead of the fast-paced restaurant and hospitality industry,” said Dave Allen, product group manager for Xylem’s Applied Water Systems business unit. “Proprietors are looking for beverage systems and specialized solutions that can be customized to fit their ever-changing needs. The BevJet Compact is optimal for the spatial constraints presented by today’s dining architecture. The V-Jet series pump head offers a reliable smooth-running solution that drives reverse osmosis water systems, carbonated drink applications, coolant circulation or hot drink applications.”
