New Flojet Series PulpJet Air Operated Diaphragm Pump -
Ideal for Commercial Smoothie Dispensing Applications

Santa Ana, CA (May 12, 2010) – Xylem (www.flojet.com), a leading manufacturer of small motors and air-operated pumps for beverage and industrial applications, has just introduced its new Flojet Series PulpJet Air Operated Diaphragm Pump designed for dispensing juice and smoothie mixes that contain pulp and particles. “The pump's uniquely designed, central opening check valve allows soft solids and stringy particles to pass through without the risk of clogging, but is still capable of high back pressures,” said Peter Wright, Strategic Product Manager at Xylem, “and the performance and service life of this pump far exceeds all other similar pumps on the market.”

The Flojet Series PulpJet Air Operated Diaphragm Pump is capable of passing particles of at least 1/8” (3mm). The pump’s smooth flow path is great for liquids containing pulp that would otherwise get caught on moving parts or become emulsified into the finished product. Therefore, it is ideal for dispensing smoothie mixes (mango, strawberry, and banana), slushies, condiments, as well as acidic condiments such as pizza sauce.

The PulpJet pump is very compact, only 5.5 inches tall and 4.5 inches wide, and can handle pressures up to 80 PSI. A built-in auto shutoff, specifically tuned to highly viscous liquids, automatically turns the pump off when the bag is empty and restarts when a full bag is connected. The Flojet Series PulpJet Air Operated Diaphragm Pump is part of the G Series line of Flojet Beverage Air Operated pumps that are recognized for ultimate performance and service life.
